What is G-PAS

(Pronounced: G-PASS)

Definition: Global Position Anchor Stabilizer

Primary Purpose:

Stabilize the anchor, maintaining its set position, by absorbing the wave forces, up to 75% wave force reduction.

Secondary Purpose:

Boat Stabilizer, GPAS not only stabilizes the anchor but maintains the boat to water surface tension, allowing the boat to ride the wave up and down, preventing the boat from being lifted and dropped. The boat becomes more comfortable for the occupants and more importantly, it becomes safer for the occupants.

Additional Benefit:

One seldom thought of, but most important in the long run, is the prevention of anchor drag. Dragging the anchor across the lake or river bottoms creates a furrow row disturbing the bottom, which in turn adds to erosion and reduced water clarity. It tears up the weed beds, fish beds, clam beds, sand bars, reefs and many other fish and bait fish habitat. Eliminating anchor drag will help to maintain, even improve your favorite fishing hole for your years and generations to follow.

First off I want to thank you for taking two of your systems over to my brother-in-law John Barbian. We both could not believe the service. Thanks. Secondly, both John and myself have been up on Lake Wassota this week and the weather has been pure crap! Wind, rain the whole works. John and I both have been using your system and it has been priceless. Also we found another use for it. My boat has been the only that could not be up on a lift throughout the high wind and waves while tied to the dock. We used one on my bow line and it has really saved my boat and the dock. We have been known for ripping docks out of the bottom of the lake when tied up in bad weather. We have some photos that I’ll send you when we get back to Madison. Thanks again.

Don, Thanks so much for your help on using the GPAS cord. It worked perfectly on my trip to Lake Wissota and we also used it when tied to the pier to lessen the strain on both the pier and boat cleats. It not only kept us in place anchored in a stiff wind but kept us in place when boats passed a bit to close and their wake pushed us around. You were also right about minimizing the movement of the boat as the waves pushed the boat back and forth. Much easier on the back and safer to move around in the boat. I used the method of using twice the length of the strap to get the proper loop in the anchor and that worked great. We had a great trip and the fishing was fast and furious as walleyes, crappies, smallmouth, northerns, and catfish were all competing for our minnows. The GPAS gave us more fishing time and less time re-anchoring due to a slipping anchor. That's a GREAT PRODUCT! Keep your feet dry and your hooks sharp. Thanks again!

GPAS? Global Position Anchor and Boat Stabilizer. This is one product that should be in every boat, kayak or canoe. I fish the Gulf of Mexico in a remote forgotten coast called Keaton Beach. It is 85% state owned land with a stretch of grass flats we call the sanctuary. Everything comes here to feed and breed. Trout, Redfish, Cobia, Black bass, Grouper, Snapper you name it we have it in abundance. I love to fish out of my 12 foot canoe. I can get into places most boats cannot. But here the wind can come up quick and throw you off course and drag your anchor around, making fishing nearly impossible to do. That is why I love my GPAS. Not only does it keep me in my favorte fishing spots, it stabilizes my canoe so I can spend more time concentrating on my fishing and less on the waves. My canoe remains steady, even in 15 mile an knot winds and most importantly does not drag me or my anchor around. This does not disturbe the grass flats, thus protecting the delicate grass, and less disturbance means better fishing. I can fish longer, better, and feel safer with my GPAS! I never leave home without it. It is a great gift for any fisherman and a must have! Remember, to always be careful in any body of water and be safe. Thanks Don, for developing a truley great affordable product, that anyone can own and enjoy! I love mine! Sincerely, Joyce Clark

I tested the GPAS on Richland-Chambers Lake, Streetman, Texas, on my 18-foot I/O Cobalt (approximately 4000 pounds) in 43-feet deep water. Wind was fairly steady at 20 to 25 knots and waves at 2 to 3 feet. The anchor line is about 100 feet long and I would say I had 85 feet out tied off on the front bow with the GPAS looped as instructed. (My anchor is a spade type.) The bow swung into the wind and the boat remained steady for two hours. I watched the GPAS cord give and take but the boat stayed on spot. I did notice there was no jerking on board with the action of the wind and waves, and I was able to move around much more comfortably and safely. I am pleased with your product and have ordered two additional units.

I spend a lot of time on the Mississippi River fishing but typically I don't spend much time anchored. The time that I did use it was when I was fishing a closing dam on the main channel. It was on a weekend when there was high boat traffic and the waves were almost unbearable. I anchored above the closing dam and started fishing. Every time a large boat would go by the waves would pull me off my location. I remembered that John had given me the GPAS to try so I gave it a shot. I have to say I was quite impressed. I was able to stay in position and fish with the big waves. I don't spend a lot of time anchored but I think it would be a great tool to have in the boat. I think it would be very helpful on big open water. Good Luck

I have used your GPAS all year and would not be without it. I have used it on my Lund 2025 Pro-V, my 25 foot pontoon boat as well as a 21 ft Lund Tyee Magnum. In every boat we have had trouble “holding” an anchor when waves exceed 2 feet, and now with GPAS we have no problem staying on anchor in waves over 3 feet high. The pontoon that I use is especially hard to hold because of the size and surface that the wind hits. Now we stay right on the spot with out a worry. It also makes standing on the deck of the pontoon easier and safer because of the cushioned effect of GPAS on the anchor rope. On both Lund Boats the cleats are mounted quite a ways back on the deck which at times will have the boat somewhat sideways to the waves and with GPAS the anchor still stays put. We now can use less anchor rope on each boat and still stay right on the fish. I really like how easy it is to install into the anchor rope without any fancy knots or hitches. As a guide who is on the water almost every day I would not have an anchor without a GPAS to go with it. The occasional boater to the tournament angler should all equip their boats with this system. If you have an anchor you need GPAS. I would just like to thank everyone at GPAS for a great product.
