A new year of fishing

Happy New Year and I wish you all amazing success this year with fishing.

It's always an exciting time when the year starts out with frozen ponds and lakes that are filled with the outdoor adventures of ice fishing.   The sound of snowmobiles rushing across the lakes to get to their special ice fishing holes is just as exciting as hearing the roar of those boat engines.  Fishing is fishing... cold or hot the excitement is the same when it comes to being able to catch the big one.

I am reminded sadly that some do not take the necessary precautions to make sure that they remain safe and for that I hope that each and everyone will make sure that they themselves Think Smart when it comes to Ice and Safety.  there is no need to make a fish worth the price of you or your loved ones life.  Know the proper depths of ice that you are going to be venturing out on before you decide to just go and do it.  Check reports locally and from the ministry on what ice conditions are like and don't forget the most important person... the weatherman.  Remember extreme changes in temperature or worse Rain will definitely change the ice from safe conditions to extremely dangerous.

Play safe and you will have an incredible start to 2012.  Don't forget that were also going to be coming up to the spring season of fishing and well it doesn't get much better than that...

Time to sort through the old tackle and get ready for the new season... I can't wait.

Stay safe and I hope that 2012 brings you your largest and best fishing catches to date.
